Job summary

Everlab, Australia’s healthtech startup building a lifelong health platform, seeks an engineering manager to lead a Sydney-based squad in a hybrid role. You will own delivery, health, and people, partnering with a Tech Lead to shape the squad’s direction and rhythm while anchoring decisions in durable systems rather than heroic acts.

Qualifications

• Engineering management experience with ownership of delivery and people growth.
• Predictable delivery achieved through process and system, not heroics.
• Technically credible in design decisions and risk surfacing.
• Strong people-management craft including coaching and hiring accountability.
• Experience building in a regulated healthcare environment with privacy/safety emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Own the squad's delivery and health, setting an operating rhythm that ships predictably.
• Own people management: performance, careers, hiring, retention, and difficult conversations.
• Set the squad's goals and rhythm with the Tech Lead, communicating the why clearly.
• Grow engineers deliberately, coaching and promoting progression.
• Make effective use of AI as the squad's default practice and share learnings with the group.
