Job summary

WSP is seeking an Engineering Manager - BESS & Electrical Systems to join the Power & Energy group in Australia. You will lead a national team delivering complex BESS and electrical engineering projects across the full lifecycle, from development through to delivery.

You will drive OE, TDD and design engagements, pursue growth opportunities, and strengthen client relationships. Hybrid work arrangement available across east coast offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Chartered status with Engineers Australia is a plus.
• 10+ years’ experience in the power industry with BESS and HV experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in renewables and BESS.
• Familiarity with OE, TDD and design engagements.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience supporting or leading business development activities.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative leader who builds strong relationships and supports team growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a national team delivering BESS projects and electrical systems for renewables across Australia.
• Drive Owner’s Engineer (OE), Technical Due Diligence (TDD), electrical design and advisory services.
• Identify, pursue and secure new opportunities, strengthening WSP’s position in the energy transition market.
• Oversee bid preparation and submissions, ensuring clear value propositions and high win rates.
• Act as Project Director on major projects or portfolios.
• Manage team resourcing, performance and development.
• Deliver against financial targets and contribute to broader business strategy.
