JS Careers Pty is partnering with a financial services organisation to recruit an Engineering Manager. You’ll lead software teams, provide technical guidance, and oversee design, CI/CD and production support while delivering identity and access management solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Strong software development background, ideally Java, with design/operational experience of critical services.
• Experience with identity & access management including identity providers, directory services and access policies.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC and SAML protocols.
• Strong cloud, SaaS, Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Hands-on familiarity with identity platforms such as Ping, Okta, Entra ID or similar.

You’ll combine people leadership with technical oversight, supporting your engineers across design, development and delivery while keeping platforms reliable and improving how the team works. You’ll also contribute to the technical roadmap and build a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous learning.

The Role

• Lead and develop software engineering teams, providing technical guidance and supporting their growth.
• Oversee system design, development, CI/CD and production support.
• Guide the delivery of identity and access management solutions.
• Take ownership of platform health, reliability and the delivery of new features.
• Contribute to platform strategy and roadmaps alongside senior technology leaders.
• Work with business stakeholders to manage priorities, identify risks and keep delivery on track.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience managing software engineering teams in an agile environment.
• A strong software development background, ideally Java, with experience designing and operating critical services.
• Experience with identity and access management, including identity providers, directory services and access policies.
• Knowledge of protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC and SAML.
• Strong experience with cloud technologies, SaaS, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on familiarity with identity platforms such as Ping, Okta, Entra ID or similar.
• The ability to balance technical priorities, team development and business delivery.
