Job summary

Renova Talent is seeking an experienced technology operations leader to drive delivery across infrastructure, systems administration and internal user support from Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.

You will lead day-to-day delivery, manage a service desk, and oversee engineering projects with a PMO, while contributing to strategic architecture direction and vendor-managed software delivery.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a pioneering Fintech organisation during an important stage of growth and delivery. This is not a purely strategic role; it is an active, delivery-focused position where you will carry delegated authority for delivery and people leadership across infrastructure and systems administration.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements, you will lead day-to-day delivery across infrastructure, systems administration, and internal user support. Over time, this role will also extend to the oversight of technology product and delivery, including vendor-managed and future in-house software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery across infrastructure and systems administration, managing and developing a dedicated technical team.
• Manage the service desk as the primary channel for user, access, and systems requests across internal staff and business/member platforms.
• Plan and deliver engineering projects spanning cloud infrastructure, platforms, and internal systems, coordinating with the PMO.
• Provide hands-on technical delivery and troubleshooting across infrastructure and systems as required.
• Contribute to technology design and strategy alongside the CISO, including strategic direction toward serverless and event-driven architecture.
• Administer and support internal applications, including designing and maintaining work management projects and workflows.
• Oversee vendor-managed software delivery models and hybrid engineering functions.

About You

You will have several years of experience operating in a technology operations or IT management role, supported by direct people leadership experience. You possess a hands-on technical background across infrastructure, systems administration, or platform engineering, enabling you to contribute directly to troubleshooting and delivery when required.

You bring demonstrated experience running a service desk and managing SLAs, alongside a strong track record of planning and delivering engineering projects in conjunction with a PMO. Your technical expertise covers virtualisation, cloud infrastructure platforms (ideally AWS), identity and endpoint management (Microsoft Entra ID, Intune), and work management platform administration (Atlassian Jira/Confluence). Experience overseeing vendor-delivered software or managing a hybrid delivery model will be highly regarded.

You are a highly autonomous leader who communicates fluently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, easily navigating complex technical and management work. Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or PRINCE2 are preferred but not mandatory.
