Job summary

Bega Valley Shire Council presents an exciting Engineering Cadet opportunity within its Emerging Talent Program. You will undertake an undergraduate Engineering (Honours) degree while gaining hands-on experience across Works and Projects, Water and Sewer, and Asset Management.

The program offers structured learning, on-the-job exposure, mentoring, and support for your studies with funded course fees and study days. A pathway to a rewarding local government career awaits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in engineering, infrastructure, science or related technical disciplines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience using the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of engineering services across a range of functions, including project management, asset management, engineering design, inspections and technical services.
• Assist with the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of engineering projects and programs that support Council's infrastructure network.
• Develop practical skills in data analysis, technical investigations, reporting, surveying, site inspections and project documentation.
• Contribute to the delivery of engineering services that comply with statutory requirements, relevant standards and Council policies and procedures.
• Apply your university learning in a practical environment while developing the technical, analytical and professional skills required for a successful career in engineering.
