Thiess is recruiting a Project Engineer - Civil for the Eva Copper Mine Project, located on Kalkadoon lands, 75 km north of Cloncurry. The role is a max-term contract (12-18 months) delivering high-quality mine planning and engineering to support safe, efficient operations.

You will work a 2/1 roster with FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, staying in camp during roster periods. You will be part of the Eva Copper Alliance delivering on-site supervision and stakeholder coordination.

About the Role

Thiess is currently recruiting a Project Engineer - Civil for our Eva Copper Mine Project, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People, 75 kilometres north of Cloncurry and 95 kilometres north-east of Mount Isa.

This role is being offered as a max-term contract of between 12-18 months, providing a great opportunity to be part of an exciting new project!

As part of our commitment to supporting local communities, Thiess actively encourages applications from people living in North West Queensland, including members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations peoples. We also welcome applications from individuals who are willing to relocate to the region and become part of the local community.

As a key member of the Eva Copper Alliance team, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality mine planning and mine engineering processes to support safe, efficient operations and ensure our workforce meets Thiess and industry standards.

Working a 2/1 roster and reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, your duties will include:

• Support the implementation of company systems and policies
• Assist with development of work schedules and construction progress tracking
• Track daily costs against budget and work with site supervisors to improve efficiencies
• Monitor quality to ensure client expectations and local authority standards are met
• Provide engineering support to on-the-ground supervisory staff
• Promote the Thiess Brand with external stakeholder including clients and their consultants
• Maintain open communications and report all issues outside your authority to your Construction Manager
