Job summary

South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking a Communications and Engagement Officer to craft engaging content and coordinate community initiatives in a flexible, hybrid setting. You will work across the organisation to connect the community with information and opportunities that matter, delivering a mix of creative and practical tasks.

The role focuses on website and social media content, engagement campaigns, and communications planning, with the chance to influence multiple projects and teams.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in communications or related field, or experience in a communications role.
• Demonstrated experience creating high-quality written content across a variety of channels and audiences.
• Experience in website and social media content in a professional environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A current Victorian Drivers licence and Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Create content for Council's website, intranet and social media channels.
• Support planning and delivery of community engagement activities and campaigns.
• Develop communications plans, marketing materials and promotional content.
• Provide communications advice and support to teams across the organisation.
