Job summary

Aequalis Consulting Pty is seeking a Project Controls Engineer for a major energy project in the Surat Basin. The FIFO 14:7 roster operates from Brisbane, offering hands-on involvement in critical delivery and clear career impact.

The role reports to the Construction Manager and focuses on timely, accurate performance tracking, dashboards, and data-driven insights to drive project outcomes. A tertiary degree and 4+ years in project controls are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in project controls within a construction, energy or infrastructure setting.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and advanced Excel.
• Proficiency in Power BI and Synchro; ability to automate or optimise reporting.

Responsibilities

• Track, monitor and report against key project KPIs.
• Build and maintain detailed schedules in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Develop and interpret visual dashboards in Power BI.
• Analyse performance metrics (CPI, SPI, PF) to forecast trends and propose solutions.
• Produce high-quality daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings across commercial, programme and planning.
• Identify scope impacts and delay risks; manage reporting and communication.
