Job summary

Synergy (Electricity Generation and Retail Corporation) in Perth is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Customer Marketing team. You will develop forecasting, analytics and optimisation solutions that enhance customer outcomes and support DER integration, using large datasets and advanced statistics.

You will work with stakeholders across Customer, Future Energy, and Technology & Business Services to build analytical products, tools and insights that drive business value and pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business or related discipline.
• Experience applying SQL and Python to develop predictive models, machine learning solutions and data-driven insights. Experience with R will be highly regarded.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets to solve business challenges.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
• A curious, commercially minded and self-driven approach, with the ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, ask thoughtful questions and deliver value through data and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive, prescriptive and machine learning models to solve complex business challenges and support customer and market outcomes.
• Analyse customer, market and operational data to generate insights and recommendations that drive commercial performance and informed decision-making.
• Support the development and enhancement of forecasting, pricing and market models to optimise product performance and customer value.
• Design and deliver analytical tools, products and solutions that improve business capability, efficiency and access to data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Customer, Future Energy, and Technology & Business Services to identify opportunities, influence outcomes and support strategic initiatives.
