Job summary

Halcyon Knights is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to take ownership of end-to-end payroll for up to 460 staff, based in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide. Immediate start for a full-time, short-term engagement (3–6 months) reporting to the Finance Manager.

You will ensure accurate weekly/fortnightly processing, maintain employee records, interpret awards and legislation, manage superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax, handle new starters and terminations, and respond to payroll queries with

Qualifications

• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing (essential).
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines effectively.
• Police check required.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing on a weekly/fortnightly basis for up to 460 staff.
• Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring data integrity
• Interpreting relevant awards, agreements, and legislation
• Managing superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax obligations
• Processing new starters, terminations, and leave entitlements
• Responding to payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
• Assisting with payroll reporting and audits as required
