Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking a project manager to coordinate building project implementation from pre-design through post-construction in Far North Queensland. You will work with clients and stakeholders to deliver outcomes while upholding governance, financial performance, and quality standards.

The role requires proven project management experience in building, construction, or infrastructure, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across FNQ.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proven capability in project coordination, stakeholder management, and problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage building projects through all delivery phases.
• Ensure delivery within scope, timeframes, budgets, cash-flow, and quality standards.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate project teams to achieve objectives.
• Administer contracts and provide contract coordination.
• Lead negotiations to deliver value-for-money outcomes.
• Monitor performance, manage risks, control variances, and report costs/timelines.
• Conduct project audits and evaluate team performance.
• Assist in determining project fees and facilitate billing approvals.
• Ensure compliance with WHS and organizational policies.
