Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer for the Broken Hill Public School in regional NSW. The role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs, assisting with welfare and health activities, and providing targeted support across preschool streams such as vision and hearing support.

The position requires an ACECQA Certificate III in Children’s Services or similar, a Working with Children Check, and completion of mandatory Department of Education

Qualifications

• Must be working towards or hold ACECQA Certificate III in Children’s Services or Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Completion of mandatory Department of Education training and willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of Medications – training provided based on student needs.
• Health support training provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and learning environments.
• Assist in student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Provide support for pre-school, vision, hearing, and bilingual streams/settings as required.
• Perform duties under the direction of a teacher to support educational outcomes.
