Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher supervision. The role supports students with diverse learning needs and contributes to student welfare and wellbeing initiatives.

Two ongoing full-time positions are available at Nana Glen Public School with strict submission requirements. The Department emphasises inclusion and collaboration across teams and streams.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Mandatory training required by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of Medications – training provided based on student needs.
• Health support training provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Provide support in streams/settings such as pre‑school, vision support, hearing support and bilingual settings.
• Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support educational outcomes.
