Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms. You will provide welfare, health and wellbeing activities under the direction of a teacher and may support pre-school, vision, hearing and bilingual streams.

You will participate in team-based work with a focus on inclusive education, supporting students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities and contributing to educational outcomes

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance
• Mandatory training required by the Department of Education with willingness to undertake first aid training
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities
• Awareness of the needs of students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities
• Effective communication skills
