Youth Off The Streets in Merrylands is seeking a First Nations Student Support Youth Worker (Identified Role) to provide culturally safe guidance within our independent high school. You will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, support learning, and help learners develop resilience and decision-making skills in line with our Sanctuary Model.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and be able to provide a certificate of Aboriginality.
• Experience working in the youth sector and/or education setting.
• Experience working with or in First Nations communities.
• Current employment working with children check & a recent police check.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsabilités

• Provide positive youth engagement in education and assist young people from all backgrounds to develop capacity for responsible living in line with the program vision.
• Provide culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and assist with culturally appropriate teaching strategies and activities that foster leadership and study or employment opportunities.
• Engage with students and families, building supportive relationships within the school.
