Job summary

McArthur is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist clients in Chatswood and surrounding areas. You will provide person-centred daily living support, help clients achieve independence and participate in their communities.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications: Certificate III or higher in Disability, Community Services or related field.
• Minimum six months of hands-on disability support experience.
• Experience delivering in-home and community-based support, including transport.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred daily living and personal care support.
• Supporting participants to develop independence and life skills.
• Assisting with community access, social activities and appointments.
• Providing transport and supporting community participation.
• Supporting individuals with complex physical and psychosocial needs.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and use of equipment where trained.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with participants and their networks.
• Promoting dignity, choice, inclusion and empowerment.
