Job summary

yourtown is seeking an Employment Consultant (Job Placement Coach) to work with young people, building skills, confidence and readiness for employment through tailored activities and ongoing support. You will handle intake assessments, pathway development, employer outreach, job matching, and continuous coaching to help participants secure meaningful, sustainable work.

Proficiency with CRM systems and a client-centered approach are essential.

As the Employment Consultant (known internally as a Job Placement Coach), you will be part of a support team that works together with the young person and will focus on building their skills, confidence and readiness to enter employment through targeted and tailored activities. In this role, you will use your customer service skills and ability to build working relationships with young people to support them to gain skills that will lead them to meaningful, sustainable employment.

Your role will include:

• Delivering tailored, outcome-driven employment services, including assessment, pathway development, employer outreach, and ongoing support for sustainable employment.
• Completing intake assessments with the participant to determine work readiness.
• Working in collaboration with the member to goal set and implement strategies.
• Source and match employment opportunities for young people using a strengths based, client-centred approach.
• Job matching, cold calling, and reverse marketing the young person to employers.

• Employment Services experience and/or a bubbly and enthusiastic individual with the drive to support young people on their journey to employment.

• The drive to meet KPIs – it isn’t just a number; it is a young person’s life that you help change for the better.
• Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high, and your administration needs to be on par with this.
• Great employer engagement skills - you love cold calling and reverse marketing.
• Your practice is client focused, our young people are at the heart of it, and you genuinely want to make a difference in their lives.
• Are adaptable by nature – no two days are the same in Transition to Work.

Transition to Work (TtW) is the Australian Government’s youth specialist employment service that supports young people to develop practical skills to gain employment or connect with education or training.
