Job summary

Scope seeks a People & Performance Specialist (ER Specialist) to manage complex and high-risk people matters end-to-end, reporting to the People & Performance Lead. You will provide expert advice, coaching and practical support to people leaders in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

You will focus on fair, just culture, risk mitigation and policy adherence, with responsibilities including case management, audits, and liaison with unions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in HR or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of governance, regulatory, and legislative requirements impacting employment (Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, enterprise agreements, Equal Opportunity).
• Ability to advise and coach leaders on performance management using relevant tools and frameworks.
• Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating employee relations processes in high-volume environments.
• Experience in a unionised environment and with multiple industrial instruments.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships across a dispersed organisation.

Responsibilities

• Triage complex and sensitive people matters in collaboration with the People Advisory team.
• Receive case handovers when defined thresholds are met.
• Case manage highly complex performance, conduct, grievances, inherent requirements and show cause matters end-to-end.
• Support managers through performance and disciplinary meetings with preparation and briefing.
• Maintain ER case files to audit standard and ensure document governance.
• Draft and maintain high-quality case reports and documentation.
• Liaise with Unions and employee representatives during processes.
• Conduct reviews and audits to identify issues for systemic improvement.
• Collaborate with the Scope Investigation Team to establish scope and strategy.
