Job summary

National Tiles is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People & Culture team on the Gold Coast. You will partner with leaders across our national operations to foster a fair, high-performing workplace and support enterprise agreement interpretation and investigations.

You will work with stores, warehouses and offices to implement changes, build resources, and ensure procedural fairness in all investigations and employee lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Experience across employee and industrial relations within multi-site operations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian IR framework: modern awards, Enterprise Agreements and the National Employment Standards.
• Proven experience managing investigations, performance and conduct matters.
• Ability to coach and guide leaders with strong documentation standards and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, commercially sound employee and industrial relations advice across retail stores, warehouses and support offices.
• Support organisational change initiatives by improving leadership capability.
• Collaborate with learning and development to build tools for the employee lifecycle navigation.
• Partner with line managers and employees to prepare for and conduct meetings with procedural fairness and proper documentation.
• Manage end-to-end employee relations casework with risk assessment and reporting.
• Develop and maintain resources, templates and reporting frameworks to manage risk and support informed decisions.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders while promoting psychological safety and wellbeing across the business.
• Support the broader People and Culture team to achieve strategic priorities.

As our Employee Relations Specialist, you will:

• Provide expert, commercially sound employee and industrial relations advice across retail stores, warehouses and support office, including investigations, conduct and performance matters, modern award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation
• Support organisational change initiatives by implementing initiatives to improve leadership capability in leading their teams
• Working with the learning and development team to to build and implement tools to help employees and leaders navigate the employee lifecycle at National Tiles
• Partner with line managers and employees to prepare for and conduct performance, conduct and investigation meetings, ensuring procedural fairness and appropriate documentation
• Manage end-to-end employee relations casework, maintaining strong matter management practices including accurate documentation, risk assessment and reporting
• Develop and maintain best-practice people and culture team resources, templates, guidance materials and reporting frameworks to manage risk and support informed decision-making
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders while promoting psychological safety, compliance, wellbeing and continuous improvement across the business
• Supporting the broader People and Culture team to achieve their strategic priorities and lifecycle activites.

About You

• Demonstrated experience across employee and industrial relations within a multi-site or operationally complex organisation (retail, warehousing or logistics experience highly regarded)
• Strong working knowledge of the Australian industrial relations framework, including modern awards, Enterprise Agreements and the National Employment Standards
• Proven experience managing investigations, performance and conduct matters, change processes and tribunal matters
• Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coach and guide leaders at all levels
• A practical, commercially focused and solutions-oriented approach with strong attention to detail and documentation standards
• The ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
