Job summary

STRENGTH COMMUNITY DISABILITY SERVICES PTY LTD – Newcastle NSW is seeking a Support Worker based in Newcastle, NSW. You will support a man in his 60s with psychosocial disability and complex PTSD, providing community access, in-home support, gym attendance, and outings.

The role requires you to transport the participant and his dog and build trust through clear communication and a calm, respectful approach. Availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays is required.

• Enjoys getting involved in activities.
• Comfortable having a dog in your vehicle.
• Available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Provide community access and support to participate in meaningful activities
• Provide in-home support with everyday routines
• Attend the gym and bushwalking alongside the participant
• Transport the participant and his dog
• Build a trusting relationship through clear communication and a calm, respectful approach
