Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking an Emergency Services and Security Coordinator for the Jundee Operations in the Northern Goldfields. The role is permanent, full-time, with an 8 & 6 roster and FIFO travel from Perth on day and night shifts.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will lead the Emergency Response Team, develop emergency plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate readiness across the site to safeguard people and assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground, open pit or processing mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, mining regulations and industry best practice.
• Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue, including rescue and emergency response competencies.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and MR Licence (HR desirable).
• Additional qualifications such as Certificate II Security Operations, Drug & Alcohol Testing (HLTPAT010) and Training & Assessing are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site HSE systems, WHS regulations and emergency management requirements.
• Develop, implement and maintain site emergency management plans, procedures and documentation.
• Lead, mentoring and developing Emergency Services Security Officers and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness programs, training exercises, competitions and qualification compliance across site.
• Maintain emergency response equipment, fleet readiness and conduct inspections, risk assessments and improvement initiatives.
• Acting as Incident Commander and participating in the after-hours emergency response roster.
• Build strong relationships with operational leaders, emergency services stakeholders, WA Police and local emergency management committees.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Emergency Services and Security Coordinator to join the Emergency Response Team at our Jundee Operations in the Northern Goldfields. This permanent and full-time opportunity will work an 8 & 6 roster, flying in / out of Perth on a day shift/ night shift rotation.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent this role will offer the opportunity to play a key role in site emergency preparedness and response activities, ensuring the safety of people, assets, and operations

• Experience in a similar Emergency Services and Security Coordinator role, ideally within the resources sector
• Experience working FIFO at a remote site location would be highly regarded
• Excellent communication, training, presentation, stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate, negotiate & influence across all levels of site stakeholders
• Flexible and adaptable, with strong computer, record-keeping, and document management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Solutions-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications:

• Experience in underground, open pit or processing mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, mining regulations and industry best practice
• Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue, including rescue and emergency response competencies.
• Certificate IV in Healthcare (HLT431120) or equivalent qualification.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (HR desirable).
• Underground Fire & Rescue, Closed Circuit BA, Aviation Fire or Wildfire Response qualifications highly regarded.
• Additional qualifications such as Certificate II Security Operations, Drug & Alcohol Testing (HLTPAT010) and Training & Assessing are desirable.
