Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking an experienced Emergency Services and Security Coordinator for its Jundee Operations, WA. The role is permanent, full-time, on 8/6 FIFO roster with flights from Perth and day/night rotations.

Reporting to Health and Safety, you will lead emergency response activities to protect people, assets and operations. Key duties include compliance with WHS, developing emergency plans, mentoring staff, and coordinating drills and training while fostering strong

Qualifications

• Experience in underground, open pit or processing mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and mining regulations.
• Relevant emergency response qualifications and licences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site HSE systems and emergency regulations.
• Develop and maintain site emergency management plans and procedures.
• Lead and mentor Emergency Services Officers and ERT members.
• Coordinate emergency programs, drills and qualification compliance.
• Maintain emergency equipment, inspections and risk assessments.
• Act as Incident Commander and participate in after-hours roster.
• Build relationships with operational leaders and WA emergency services.

Emergency Services and Security Coordinator

• Working FIFO, 8 & 6 roster out of Perth, Thursday's rotation day shift/ night shift

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Emergency Services and Security Coordinator to join the Emergency Response Team at our Jundee Operations in the Northern Goldfields. This permanent and full-time opportunity will work an 8 & 6 roster, flying in / out of Perth on a day shift/ night shift rotation.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent this role will offer the opportunity to play a key role in site emergency preparedness and response activities, ensuring the safety of people, assets, and operations

What you can look forward to:

• Ensuring compliance with site HSE systems, WHS (Mines) Regulations and emergency management requirements.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining site emergency management plans, procedures and documentation.
• Leading, mentoring and developing Emergency Services Security Officers and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
• Coordinating emergency preparedness programs, training exercises, competitions and qualification compliance across site.
• Maintaining emergency response equipment, fleet readiness and conduct inspections, risk assessments and improvement initiatives.
• Acting as Incident Commander and participating in the after-hours emergency response roster.
• Building strong relationships with operational leaders,emergency services stakeholders, WA Police and local emergency management committees.

Where you will add value:

• Experience in a similar Emergency Services and Security Coordinator role, ideally within the resources sector
• Experience working FIFO at a remote site location would be highly regarded
• Excellent communication, training, presentation, stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate, negotiate & influence across all levels of site stakeholders
• Flexible and adaptable, with strong computer, record-keeping, and document management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Solutions-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications:

• Experience in underground, open pit or processing mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, mining regulations and industry best practice
• Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue, including rescue and emergency response competencies.
• Certificate IV in Healthcare (HLT431120) or equivalent qualification.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (HR desirable).
• Underground Fire & Rescue, Closed Circuit BA, Aviation Fire or Wildfire Response qualifications highly regarded.
• Additional qualifications such as Certificate II Security Operations, Drug & Alcohol Testing (HLTPAT010) and Training & Assessing are desirable.
