Job summary

Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) in Sydney is offering a 12-month fixed-term Nursing Internship for qualified Veterinary Nurses. The program is designed to build skills in Emergency & Critical Care with 75% time in ECC and 25% in specialty rotations.

You’ll have a dedicated nurse mentor, a structured learning plan with competency sign-offs, and weekly/fortnightly specialist-led education. On completion, there is potential to transition to a permanent role in our hospital network.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) required.
• At least 1 year of experience in general practice preferred.
• Interest in Emergency & Critical Care and referral nursing.

Responsibilities

• Support Emergency & Critical Care nursing and CRIs in a busy referral hospital.
• Engage in structured rotations through ECC and specialty departments.
• Participate in nurse mentoring and competency sign-offs.
• Follow learning plan with regular progress reviews at 3/6/9 months.
• Potential to transition into a permanent role after internship.
