Job summary

Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Sydney is offering a Veterinary Nursing Internship (Junior/Trainee) in Emergency & Referral. The 12-month contract comprises 75% Emergency & Critical Care and 25% specialty rotations, with an opportunity to transition into a permanent position.

A dedicated nurse mentor, structured learning, and regular education sessions guide your development in a busy referral hospital. You'll gain hands-on experience with emergency presentations, hospitalised patients and

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of general practice experience.
• Genuine interest in Emergency & Critical Care and referral nursing.
• Curious and motivated, and comfortable asking questions and taking feedback.
• Organised, adaptable and a good communicator in a busy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to Emergency & Critical Care nursing.
• Rotate through specialty departments (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiology).
• Work with a dedicated nurse mentor and competency sign-offs.
• Participate in weekly or fortnightly specialist-led education and case discussions.
• Progress toward potential permanent role upon successful completion.
