You don't need to arrive knowing everything. That's the purpose of the internship!

  • A structured learning plan with competency sign-offs across ECC skills
  • Weekly/fortnightly specialist-led education and case discussions
  • Formal check-ins at 3, 6 and 9 months to review your progress and goals
  • On successful completion, the opportunity to transition into a permanent role
What you'll learn
  • Emergency triage, patient assessment and clinical reasoning
  • Nursing hospitalised emergency and critical care patients, and recognising and responding to changes in their condition Emergency stabilisation and management of acute presentations
  • CRIs, blood products, transfusion medicine, advanced analgesia and emergency medications
  • Assisting with CPR, intubation, thoracocentesis and advanced patient monitoring
  • Complex medical, surgical and specialty cases across our referral departments

As your skills develop, you'll gradually take greater ownership of patient care.

Roster: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week on a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays. Specialty rotations run on weekday day shifts. Majority of the internship will be out of ARH Homebush, with occasional shifts at ARH Greater Western Sydney if required.
