Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety, through Emergency Management Victoria, is seeking a Policy Officer to support volunteer sustainability and community preparedness in Victoria. In this role you will prepare timely advice, briefings and reports for Ministers and executives, liaise with stakeholders, and help develop policy and implement innovative processes for emergency management.

Experience with government processes and knowledge of the Victorian emergency management sector are

Qualifications

• Experience with government processes and policy development and delivery is preferred.
• Operational experience or knowledge of the emergency management sector in Victoria is desirable.
• Qualifications in communications, project management or a related discipline are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, concise, timely and relevant advice and documentation for Ministers, committees and executives.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy analysis and advice.
• Support policy development and contribute to innovative processes for volunteer sustainability and community preparedness.
• Assist in delivering projects and policy services within EMV’s emergency management scope.
