Job summary

NSW Health at Auburn Hospital is seeking a Trainee in Emergency Medicine (Stage 1) to provide clinical care under appropriate supervision in a high‑volume ED. The role offers experience in a critical care environment and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the incumbent’s level, with the expectation to function at SRMO level where appropriate.

The appointment is temporary, 19 hours per week, with shift work as required by the network.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia
• Must have completed at least two postgraduate years training in an Australian Public Hospital or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment with commitment to self-education and CPD

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in the Emergency Department under supervision
• Gain experience in a critical care environment with opportunities for autonomous practice
• Be prepared to participate in 24-hour shift rosters across facilities within the Network
