Nepean Hospital, part of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD), is seeking an Emergency Department Support Officer (Assistant in Nursing) to assist nurses and medical staff in a fast-paced ED, delivering patient-centered care. You will help with activities of daily living, observe patients, maintain cleanliness and equipment, and participate in a 24/7 rotating roster.

The role requires a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or current 2nd-year nursing student, plus strong

Qualifications

• Holds Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistant in Nursing work in Acute Care); or currently enrolled as a 2nd year Undergraduate Nursing Student with previous experience working in an acute care facility
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to conduct nursing practice in a manner that respects the rights of individuals and groups
• Demonstrated ability to use computer-based applications and information systems
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated flexibility in performance of duties, customer service delivery and attention to detail
• Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/ seven-day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays
