Job summary

Opengear, a Digi Company, is seeking an Embedded Systems & Test Engineer to join our Brisbane hardware team. You will own appliance testing during product development, including stress, longevity, and feature tests, and support software test efforts with automated physical testing.

You will develop Python-based tests, interface with diverse test equipment, and collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to improve test coverage, reliability, and production readiness in a dynamic lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or similar.
• Proficiency in Python and Linux for test automation.
• Experience writing and debugging test scripts for hardware.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Write and extend Python-based test scripts to validate product behaviour at a system level.
• Interface with test equipment via Python or APIs (oscilloscopes, VNAs, power supplies).
• Develop test coverage analysis with firmware and hardware engineers.
• Support integration of development-phase test flows with existing manufacturing test frameworks.
• Lead longevity and accelerated ageing test programs.
