Job summary

Quad Lock is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to join our Test & Validation team in Melbourne. You will develop and execute test plans for products before market release, collaborating with Design and Manufacturing to ensure robust validation across mechanical and electrical systems.

This 12-month fixed-term contract suits a mechanically minded engineer who applies practical problem solving and maintains lab/workshop discipline.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a testing/mechanical/manufacturing engineering role.
• Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with 3D CAD modelling for test rigs (SolidWorks preferred).
• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electronic).
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product designers and manufacturing engineers to develop requirements.
• Develop product-specific tests to validate new designs.
• Design and build testing jigs and fixtures.
• Perform mechanical and electronic testing using lab equipment.
• Utilise data acquisition systems for measuring test data.
• Process data to generate results for analysis.
• Assess results against criteria and plan implications.
• Present results to engineering and design teams.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities within the team.
• Maintain laboratory and workshop cleanliness and organisation.
