Job summary

Masters & Young, a Brisbane-based electronics design and manufacturing company, is seeking an Electronics Production Engineer to join the Woodridge team. You will bridge customers with engineering, production, procurement and supply-chain to prepare contract-manufacturing projects for production-ready processes.

You will drive onboarding, document control, BOMs with Altium Designer and FAB 3000, manage PCB and panel design, and collaborate across stakeholder groups to ensure quality,

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing or related engineering.
• Strong PCBA knowledge and production workflows.
• Experience creating technical documentation such as SOPs and manufacturing packs.
• Ability translate customer/engineering requirements into actionable instructions.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and FAB 3000.

We are seeking a capable and motivated Electronics Production Engineer to join our Woodridge team. This is a customer-facing, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys bringing electronic products from requirements through to stable, repeatable manufacture.

The opportunity

As Electronics Production Engineer, you will act as a vital link between our customers and internal engineering, production, procurement and supply‑chain teams. You will manage the technical and operational preparation of contract‑manufacturing projects, ensuring customer requirements are fully understood, accurately documented and translated into practical, production‑ready processes.

From project onboarding and manufacturing documentation through to first article inspection, component sourcing coordination and production handover, you will play an important role in ensuring every build meets the expected standards of quality, manufacturability and delivery.

This role will suit a proactive, detail‑oriented engineer or technically capable manufacturing professional who takes ownership, communicates clearly and enjoys solving problems in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers undertaking contract‑manufacturing projects, building trusted and responsive working relationships.
• Lead the technical onboarding of new manufacturing projects, from initial requirements gathering through to a successful production handover.
• Capture, maintain and control customer technical documentation, ensuring requirements are clear, complete and verified through First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Prepare and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routing documents, process documentation and assembly requirements for PCB and unit‑level builds.
• Use Altium Designer and FAB 3000 to prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing outputs and detailed PCB assembly documentation.
• Oversee panelisation and stencil design, ensuring layouts align with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and production requirements.
• Support PCB fabrication setup, including the development and review of PCB Fabrication Specifications (PFS).
• Coordinate component sourcing requirements and box‑build activities in collaboration with procurement, supply chain and production teams.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability, technical clarity, schedule alignment and continuity throughout each project.
• Support commissioning builds, first‑off production and process validation activities to enable reliable, repeatable manufacturing.
• Identify opportunities to document, refine and continuously improve project onboarding processes, workflows and manufacturing practices.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative, solution‑focused and quality‑driven team culture.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will combine sound electronics‑manufacturing knowledge with strong documentation, communication and coordination skills. You will be comfortable working across customer, engineering, operational and supply‑chain functions, while maintaining a clear focus on quality, detail and practical outcomes.

You will ideally bring:

• At least 2–4 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, product industrialisation or a related electronics or mechanical engineering environment.
• A strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, electronic components, PCB assembly requirements and broader production workflows.
• Demonstrated experience preparing high‑quality technical documentation, such as work instructions, specifications, SOPs, manufacturing packs and process documentation.
• Proven ability to translate customer and engineering requirements into clear, practical instructions for production teams.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer and FAB 3000; these are essential requirements for the role.
• Experience using ERP software in a manufacturing, engineering or production‑planning environment.
• Strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills and a structured, systems‑driven approach to managing work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build productive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• A proactive, positive and practical “can-do” mindset, with the ability to work through problems and maintain momentum across multiple projects.
• The ability to work effectively across engineering, production, procurement and supply‑chain teams.

Experience commissioning new builds, validating manufacturing processes, supporting first article activities and managing formal process handovers will be highly regarded.
