Job summary

Dynamo Services NSW Pty Ltd T/A ATF Reid Family Trust is seeking an electrician to service, fault-find and commission diesel generators, hybrid power systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Mulgrave, NSW. The role requires reading electrical drawings, collaborative work, and a strong commitment to safety.

You will support integration of diesel generation with battery storage, renewables, and control systems, while assisting with mechanical tasks when needed.

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid power systems, renewable energy integration, inverters and Battery Management Systems (BMS) (desirable)
• Understanding of microgrids, energy management systems, power conversion equipment and distributed energy resources (desirable)
• Experience with commissioning, testing and fault-finding of integrated power generation and energy storage systems (desirable)
• Dual trade qualifications or mechanical industry experience (highly regarded)

About the role

You will undertake electrical servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs, installations and commissioning activities on generator systems, hybrid power systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The role will involve working with integrated energy solutions combining diesel generation, battery storage, renewable energy inputs and advanced control systems designed to improve energy efficiency, resilience and sustainability. You will also play an active role in supporting broader generator servicing works to ensure continuity of workflows and efficient team operations. This is a hands-on role requiring a team-focused attitude and a willingness to assist with mechanical and operational tasks outside your primary electrical scope when required.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain, repair and commission diesel generators, hybrid power systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Install, test, diagnose and fault-find electrical power generation, energy storage and emergency power systems.
• Work on associated equipment including:
• Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
• Generator Control Systems
• Synchronisation and Load Sharing Systems
• Battery Charging and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
• Inverters, Rectifiers and Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
• Hybrid and Microgrid Control Systems
• Solar PV Integration Equipment
• Engine Management Interfaces
• Fuel Transfer and Monitoring Systems
• Remote Monitoring, Telemetry and Energy Management Platforms
• Main Switchboards and Distribution Equipment
• Emergency Power Systems
• Load Bank Testing Equipment
• Protection, Metering and Control Circuits
• Support the operation, maintenance and commissioning of microgrid, grid-connected, backup power and off-grid energy systems.
• Perform diagnostics and fault-finding on generators, energy storage systems, power electronics, control systems and communications networks.
• Configure and maintain monitoring, control and telemetry systems.
• Complete testing, inspection, commissioning and maintenance documentation.
• Support generator technicians and mechanical personnel in day-to-day servicing activities.
• Participate in breakdown response and emergency call-out activities as required.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and customer service.
