Job summary

InfraBuild is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician for our Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield, NSW. You will deliver high-quality electrical maintenance, maximise uptime, and support continuous improvement across site operations in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will diagnose faults, work with Siemens PLCs and ABB drives, maintain records and comply with safety standards, with hours Monday to Friday and a 9-day

Qualifications

• Electrical Supervision Licence is essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work.
• Cert III in Electrotechnology is required as foundational qualification.
• Proven experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems.
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems; Cert IV is highly regarded.

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and based at our Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 6.00am-3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight. Candidates must be willing and able to work shifts if required, including a 12-hour roster.

Earn $47-49 per hour (depending on experience) plus allowances and shift loading (if applicable).

What you will bring:

• Electrical Supervision (ES) Licence – essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work
• Cert III in Electrotechnology as a foundation for hands-on electrical maintenance
• Proven experience working with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded)
• Experience in heavy industry or combustion equipment, with SAP knowledge advantageous
