Job summary

InfraBuild is seeking a maintenance electrician to deliver high-quality electrical maintenance across site operations at the Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will help maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 6.00am–3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight; shifts and a 12-hour roster may apply.

Qualifications

• Electrical Supervision (ES) Licence is essential.
• Cert III in Electrotechnology required.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motors.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting across industrial electrical/control systems.
• Exposure to instrumentation/automation/control systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance to maximise uptime.
• Diagnose and fix electrical, instrumentation and control faults.
• Collaborate with operations to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure safety standards and site procedures are followed.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and based at our Newcastle Wire Millin Mayfield, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing:

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 6.00am-3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight. Candidates must be willing and able to work shifts if required, including a 12-hour roster.

Earn $47-49 per hour (depending on experience) plus allowances and shift loading (if applicable).

What you will bring:

• Electrical Supervision (ES) Licence – essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work
• Cert III in Electrotechnology as a foundation for hands‑on electrical maintenance
• Proven experience working with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded)
• Experience in heavy industry or combustion equipment, with SAP knowledge advantageous
