Job summary

Service Stream is offering permanent full-time Electrician roles across defence bases in the Northern Territory, including RAAF Darwin, Larrakeyah Precinct, Robertson Barracks and RAAF Tindal. You will maintain HV and LV systems and support with preventative maintenance.

Citizenship in Australia and ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance are required. Relevant electrical trade qualifications and a valid licence are also essential, with a strong emphasis on safety, accurate records, and

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise tasks with the EU Supervisor.
• Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

These are permanent full-time positions based at any of the key Defence bases across the Northern Territory including RAAF Darwin, Larrakeyah Precinct, Robertson Barracks and RAAF Tindal. About the role

You will ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems across multiple defence bases in the region. If you are not qualified for HV, we will still have plenty of work for you!

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults and issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Installing and commissioning electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Working closely with the EU Supervisor to coordinate and prioritise tasks and projects.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs conducted on electrical systems.
• Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders as required.
• Participating in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry standards and advancements.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience in one or both HV and LV electrical systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults and issues.
• Experience in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices in an electrical environment.
• Relevant trade qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid driver's licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
