Service Stream is expanding its Defence division in the Northern Territory, with permanent full-time HV/LV electricians based at RAAF Tindal. The role focuses on safe operation, maintenance and repair of HV and LV electrical systems across multiple sites, with opportunities to gain HV certifications.

You will join a team delivering critical asset services under a long-term contract. We seek qualified electricians with strong fault diagnosis, record-keeping, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with HV or LV electrical systems and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of works.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in electrical environments.
• Hold valid driver’s licence and be able to obtain Defence clearance.

Responsabilités

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HV and LV systems.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues to provide timely resolutions.
• Install and commission electrical systems in line with standards.
• Coordinate with the EU Supervisor to prioritise tasks and projects.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders.
• Participate in training to stay current with industry standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to boost efficiency.

About the role

You will ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems across multiple sites/bases. We have plently of work if you are only currently qualified for LV, although also open to supporting you to gain HV certifications!

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults and issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Installing and commissioning electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Working closely with the EU Supervisor to coordinate and prioritise tasks and projects.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs conducted on electrical systems.
• Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders as required.
• Participating in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry standards and advancements.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience in working with either HV or LV electrical systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults and issues.
• Experience in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices in an electrical environment.
• Relevant trade qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid driver's licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
