Job summary

Service Stream is expanding its Defence division and has opportunities for qualified HV/LV Electricians to join the team at RAAF Darwin and surrounding bases. These permanent full-time roles offer work-life balance and a long-term contract on base.

You will ensure safe operation, maintenance and repair of HV/LV systems across multiple sites, collaborating with the EU Supervisor and adhering to safety standards. Applicants must be Australian citizens and able to obtain Defence clearance.

Qualifications

• HV and LV electrical systems experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults.
• Experience in maintaining maintenance records.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HV and LV electrical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults to ensure timely resolutions.
• Install and commission electrical systems meeting standards.
• Coordinate with EU Supervisor to prioritise tasks.
• Ensure work follows safety regulations and maintains records.
• Provide technical guidance to team and stakeholders.
• Participate in training to stay updated with industry standards.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency.

About the role

You will ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems across multiple sites/bases.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults and issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.

• Installing and commissioning electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

• Working closely with the EU Supervisor to coordinate and prioritise tasks and projects.

• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and best practices.

• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs conducted on electrical systems.

• Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders as required.

• Participating in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry standards and advancements.

• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience in working with both HV and LV electrical systems.

• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults and issues.

• Experience in maintaining accurate records and documentation.

• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices in an electrical environment.

• Relevant trade qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Valid driver's licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
