Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance contract. You will maintain, fault-find and upgrade ITS and streetlighting infrastructure to keep transport networks safe and reliable.

Based in Canberra, Albury or Wagga Wagga with travel across regional NSW, the role is predominantly autonomous with on-call, overtime and weekend rotations. We offer training, clear career paths and VenPerks discounts.

Qualifications

• Electrical licence and relevant trade experience (essential).
• Experience with ITS and/or traffic signals (highly regarded).
• Valid driver’s licence (essential) with willingness to undertake extensive driving across rural region.
• Construction White Card (essential).
• Willingness to provide after-hours support when required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service traffic signals and ITS equipment.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and contract requirements.
• Adhere to OH&S protocols in line with Ventia policies.
• Participate in on-call and relief service rotations.
• Attend training to enhance capabilities relevant to the contract.
• Assist with emergency response coordination.
• Contribute to the review and improvement of maintenance procedures.
• Support the Asset Manager and ITS Asset Engineer in asset management planning.

About the Role

As our Maintenance Electrician, you will join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance contract. This role involves maintaining, fault-finding, and upgrading Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and streetlighting infrastructure.

• Permanent full-time position, primarily day shift
• Flexibility required for night shifts, on-call duties, and weekend coverage (shared on a rotating roster)

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Experience with ITS and/or traffic signals (highly regarded)
• Valid driver’s licence (essential), with a willingness and ability to undertake extensive driving throughout the work week, given the geographically dispersed nature of the work across this rural region.

• Willingness to provide after-hours support when required
