Ventia delivers complex transport infrastructure and technology solutions across Victoria’s major road network. The VIMC contract involves the operation, maintenance and performance management of critical Intelligent Transport Systems, traffic signal assets, communications networks, electrical infrastructure and associated roadside technology across live traffic environments.
These assets include traffic signal sites, signal controllers, lanterns, detector systems, pedestrian facilities, communications networks, CCTV, VMS, vehicle detection systems, over height detection, travel time systems, roadside cabinets, field devices, power supplies and associated network interfaces.
About the role
The Traffic Signals / ITS Maintenance Supervisor leads and oversees the safe and efficient delivery of traffic signal and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) maintenance. The role manages field crews, coordinates planned and emergency maintenance, allocates daily work, supports fault response, oversees subcontractors, and ensures all work meets contract, safety, quality, and client requirements.
Working closely with operational, engineering, planning, safety, and inventory teams, the supervisor ensures faults are resolved promptly, assets are restored, records are maintained, and performance targets are achieved. The position requires a hands‑on leader who can make sound decisions in live traffic environments, support technical troubleshooting, maintain high safety standards, and foster a positive and accountable team culture.
