Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Qualified Electrical Technician to support telecommunications infrastructure across the Toowoomba region and surrounding areas, with travel 1-2 weeks per month (Mon-Fri). You’ll enjoy autonomy, manage your workload, and operate across varied sites.

You will maintain power and environmental systems, perform preventative maintenance, fault finding and rapid repairs, and support network operations with a team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Current QLD Electrical licence.
• Current LVR CPR and First Aid.
• Current drivers licence.
• Construction white card.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Confidence working autonomously.
• Competent using digital tools and systems (Microsoft Suite, Maximo).
• HVAC qualification is preferred or willing to undertake restricted licence to perform required works.

Responsibilities

• Maintain telecommunications power and environmental systems.
• Support and maintain telecommunications power systems, solar power, standby generators, HVAC and cooling equipment.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance.
• Perform fault finding and emergency breakdown response.
• Carry out repairs, upgrades and network support activities.
• Travel across Toowoomba region and surrounds to service sites.

Ventia is seeking a Qualified Electrical Technician to support critical telecommunications infrastructure (power/solar systems, generators, hvac equipment) throughout Toowoomba region and surround areas including Dalby, Roma and beyond. You must be open to travel 1-2 weeks a month (working away from home Monday to Friday).

This is the ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, values flexibility, and prefers being out in the field rather than confined to the same location every day. You’ll be trusted to manage your workload, plan your schedule and solve technical challenges while travelling through some of Queensland’s most scenic regional areas.

About The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure that keeps communities connected. Your work will involve supporting and maintaining telecommunications power and environmental systems including:

• Telecommunications power systems
• Solar power systems
• Standby generators
• HVAC and cooling equipment
• Battery systems and associated infrastructure
• Routine preventative maintenance
• Fault finding and emergency breakdown response
• Repairs, upgrades and network support activities
