Job summary

BGIS in Southport, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support maintenance and operation of a major healthcare facility, reporting to the Team Leader. You will perform planned and reactive electrical tasks, ensure safety standards, and help create a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology is required.
• 1–5 years' experience in a similar electrical maintenance role (all levels encouraged to apply).
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Experience working in healthcare, commercial, facilities management, or critical environments.
• Experience supporting or mentoring apprentices.
• Experience working alongside subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Exposure to planned preventative maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support apprentices and share knowledge to help others develop their skills.

• Participate in the on-call roster and attend emergency call-outs when required.
• Follow all WHSE, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Build positive working relationships with hospital stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance and service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records using BGIS systems and processes.

Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support the maintenance and operation of one of South East Queensland's largest and busiest healthcare facilities. Reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensure compliance with safety standards, and help create a safe environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.

You will bring a strong customer service mindset, take pride in delivering high-quality work, and be committed to maintaining critical electrical infrastructure in a healthcare environment.

Education, Experience & Skills

• Ability to work safely and effectively within a regulated environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
