Job summary

BGIS is seeking skilled Electrical Technicians to join our Self Perform team in Melbourne, delivering high-quality maintenance across commercial client facilities. You’ll perform planned and reactive electrical work on systems such as emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general infrastructure, all while maintaining BGIS quality standards.

You’ll have a modern fleet vehicle and quality tools from day one, with a supportive team focused on safety, development, and career growth.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology required.
• Qualified Supervisors Licence or equivalent electrical licence.
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• 1+ years of post-trade electrical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across client facilities.
• Conduct fault finding, repairs, and upgrades across electrical systems.
• Service and maintain emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure.
• Complete work orders within required timeframes using BGIS systems.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior technicians where required.
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors when required.
• Ensure all works comply with WHS, compliance, environmental, and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices across service delivery.

The Role

BGIS is seeking skilled Electrical Technicians to join our Self Perform team servicing Melbourne, delivering high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and minor works across commercial client facilities.

In this role, you’ll provide end-to-end electrical maintenance support as part of a collaborative building services team. You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGIS quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your Education, Experience & Skills

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Qualified Supervisors Licence (or equivalent electrical licence)

• 1 or more years of post-trade electrical maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Full working rights in Australia (essential)
