Job summary

Ventia is recruiting an experienced Electrical Supervisor for the North East Link project in Melbourne. The role supports mobilisation, develops maintenance processes, and embeds a safety-focused culture as the project transitions to Operations and Maintenance.

The position is permanent, full-time, initially based in Abbotsford with relocation to the Motorway Control Centre in Bulleen. A Degree or A Grade licence with supervisory experience is required.

Qualifications

• Electrical Degree and/or Electrical A Grade licence with supervisory experience.
• Experience managing teams in critical infrastructure environments.
• Industrial electrical experience with asset maintenance focus.
• Knowledge of control systems and PLCs is preferred.
• Valid driver’s licence and CMMS familiarity are required.

• Develop maintenance processes and readiness for Operations and Maintenance.
• Supervise the maintenance team and drive performance against KPIs.
• Ensure asset management systems are used and records are maintained.

Ventia is proud to play a key role in the North East Link Project, a landmark Public-Private Partnership (PPP) that will transform Melbourne’s transport network. Under a 25-year contract, Ventia will deliver operations, maintenance and asset management services across the project.

We require an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join the team during the pre-operational construction phase. You will support the mobilisation of the future electrical maintenance team, develop maintenance processes, embed a strong safety and performance culture, and ensure the team is ready to maintain tunnel and motorway assets as the project transitions into Operations and Maintenance.

This is a permanent, full-time position, initially based in Abbotsford, with relocation to the future Motorway Control Centre in Bulleen.

Key Accountabilities (Pre-Operations)

• Attend site inspections to gain asset construction knowledge and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and construction inspections.
• Develop maintenance instructions processes and procedures, to ensure readiness for the transition to the Operations and Maintenance phase.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and asset teams to understand asset handover requirements, critical system interfaces and testing and commissioning.
• Mobilise and prepare a future team of mechanical and electrical technicians, including recruitment, rostering, training and inductions.
• Support the readiness of the workshop, stores, plant, vehicles and equipment.

Key Accountabilities (Operations Phase)

• Ensure maintenance occurs to best practice and in accordance with the set maintenance standards.
• Provide sound knowledge and champion maintenance activities.
• Supervise the maintenance team, continuously training and supporting them, producing best practice maintenance outcomes.
• Ensure the asset management system and works planning is followed, ensuring comprehensive records in the asset management system are maintained to the highest level
• Monitor and drive performance against maintenance KPIs.
• Coach and develop the maintenance team to maintain a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying better ways of working and embedding lessons learned into maintenance practices.
• Be the technical expert for the maintenance team, advising on complex matters.

About You

To be successful in your application, you will hold either a relevant Electrical Degree and/or an Electrical A Grade licence with including supervisory experience accompanied with the following:

• Experience in managing teams in critical infrastructure environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and sustain high-performing teams.
• Extensive years of relevant work experience having worked in an industrial electrical capacity.
• Basic control system and PLC knowledge.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Experience with using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel.
• High Voltage Safe Work Practices Certificate and/or High Voltage Switching Certificate will be highly regarded.
• Experience on road tunnel electrical systems will be highly regarded.
