Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join during the pre-operational construction phase for the North East Link Project in Melbourne. The role involves mobilising a future electrical maintenance team, developing maintenance processes, and embedding a strong safety culture as the project transitions to Operations and Maintenance.

The position is permanent full-time, initially based in Abbotsford with relocation to the future Motorway Control Centre in Bulleen.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in critical infrastructure environments.
• Ability to recruit, roster, train and induct a future maintenance team.
• Extensive electrical experience in industrial settings.
• Basic control system and PLC knowledge.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Attend site inspections to gain asset construction knowledge and participate in testing and inspections.
• Develop maintenance instructions, processes and procedures for readiness toward Operations and Maintenance.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction and asset teams on handover requirements and testing.
• Mobilise and prepare a future team of technicians, including recruitment, rostering, training and inductions.
• Support readiness of workshop, stores, plant, vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance aligns with best practice and standards during Operations phase.
• Provide knowledge and champion maintenance activities.
• Supervise the maintenance team and drive best practice outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive records in the asset management system and monitor KPIs.
• Coach and develop the team to sustain a safety-focused culture.
• Support continuous improvement and lessons learned in maintenance practices.
• Be the technical expert for the maintenance team on complex matters.
