Embedded Expertise in Melbourne seeks an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to lead and drive electrical reliability, asset performance, and compliance across our site. You will govern the Hazardous Area Management System (HAMS), ensure electrical safety programs, and develop maintenance strategies to enhance asset performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing/industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and PLC/DCS controls.
  • Experience with hazardous area installations and electrical compliance.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement.
  • RCM or Asset Management experience.
  • Exposure to energy management and optimisation projects.
  • Experience supporting capital works and plant upgrades.

Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join a leading manufacturing operation in Melbourne. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable performance of the site's electrical assets and hazardous area installations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you will drive electrical reliability, asset performance, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical reliability, maintenance, and compliance across the site.
  • Govern the Hazardous Area Management System (HAMS) and electrical safety programs.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve asset performance.
  • Provide technical support for HV/LV systems, PLCs, DCS, and protection systems.
  • Drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and energy optimisation initiatives.
  • Maintain electrical standards, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support maintenance, operations, and capital project teams with technical expertise.
About You
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, PLC/DCS controls, and protection systems.
  • Experience with hazardous area installations and electrical compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Hazardous Area Classification, Inspection, or Design experience.
  • Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) or Asset Management experience.
  • Exposure to energy management and optimisation projects.
  • Experience supporting capital works and plant upgrades.
