Wagner Consultants in Sydney seeks an Electrical Reliability Specialist to own reliability initiatives across processing, packaging and utilities. You will work with maintenance, production, engineering, quality and safety teams to reduce failures and improve asset performance.
The role requires at least 5 years in electrical engineering or automation in manufacturing, with hands-on RCA, FMEA, RCM, PLC/SCADA experience (Allen-Bradley).
This newly created position will see you join the maintenance and engineering team, taking ownership of electrical reliability initiatives across processing, packaging and utilities. You will work closely with maintenance, production, engineering, quality and safety teams to identify opportunities, eliminate recurring failures and improve the reliability and performance of critical plant and equipment.
Key responsibilities
Own and optimise reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance programs across processing, packaging and utility systems.
Analyse machine health and performance data to identify trends, potential failures and opportunities for improvement.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and drive corrective and preventative actions through to completion.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting across electrical, control and automation systems.
Manage the lifecycle of electrical and automation infrastructure, including upgrades, improvements and capital projects.
Support the development and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work including Permit to Work and SWMS/JSA requirements.
Work closely with production, quality, safety, engineering teams and OEMs to improve equipment performance and operational reliability.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the manufacturing operation.
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering, maintenance, reliability or automation within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience with RCA, FMEA, RCM and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with PLC, SCADA and industrial automation systems, particularly Allen-Bradley platforms.
Experience with safety control systems, including safety relays and safety PLCs.
Sound knowledge of AS 3000 and AS 3008 electrical standards.
Experience developing and managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Experience managing contractors and service providers, including Permit to Work and SWMS/JSA processes.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence operational teams and drive improvements without formal management authority.
