Job summary

Irish Around Oz is seeking an experienced Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to service commercial catering and kitchen equipment across Australia. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and commissioning on customer sites, while also supporting workshop activities and equipment testing.

Ideal candidates hold an electrical trade qualification with a current license and demonstrate strong fault‑finding, diagnostics and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with current electrical license.
• Experience servicing commercial catering or foodservice equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong fault‑finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to service equipment on customer sites and in workshop environments.
• Gas experience or relevant gas license is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnosing, testing and repairing commercial catering and foodservice equipment, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
• Carrying out electrical fault finding, diagnostics, testing and repairs across a range of commercial catering appliances.
• Attending customer sites for electrical servicing, breakdowns, repairs, warranty work and equipment commissioning.
• Identifying and diagnosing electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Inspecting, testing and verifying the safe operation and performance of electrical components and equipment.
• Carrying out electrical wiring, component replacement, installations and equipment modifications where appropriately licensed.
• Providing technical support to customers, technicians and internal staff on electrical and equipment‑related issues.
• Troubleshooting electrical and technical issues over the phone and by email.
• Liaising with external technicians and contractors regarding electrical service jobs and technical matters.
• Managing service and warranty jobs through to resolution.
• Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers regarding electrical components, technical issues and spare parts.
• Identifying and organizing electrical components and spare parts required for repairs.
• Testing, setting up and commissioning new equipment.
• Assisting with equipment assembly and electrical setup.
• Maintaining accurate records of service work, repairs and parts used.
• Assisting with workshop and warehouse activities when required.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to join an established Australian business supplying commercial catering and kitchen equipment across the hospitality and foodservice sectors.

Representing a range of quality international equipment brands, the business provides equipment and ongoing technical support to customers across Australia. They are now looking for a practical, hands‑on electrical technician who enjoys fault‑finding, diagnosing problems and providing a high level of technical service to customers.

The Role

This is a varied electrical field service position combining customer‑site servicing, electrical fault‑finding, technical support, equipment testing and workshop‑based activities.

The primary focus of the role is electrical servicing, diagnostics, testing and repair of commercial catering and foodservice equipment. You will attend customer sites, diagnose electrical faults, carry out repairs and commissioning, and provide technical support to customers and other service technicians.

About You

We are looking for a qualified Electrician or experienced Electrical Field Service Technician with strong electrical fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.

Experience servicing commercial catering, foodservice, commercial kitchen or similar electrical equipment is highly desirable. However, candidates from other electrical field service, commercial appliance, industrial equipment or electro‑mechanical backgrounds may also be considered.

You’ll Ideally Bring

• Electrical trade qualification and relevant electrical license
• Strong experience in electrical fault finding, diagnostics, testing, servicing and repairs
• Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, controls, components and equipment
• Experience working with commercial appliances, machinery or electrical equipment
• Strong practical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to diagnose faults and determine appropriate repairs independently
• Experience working on customer sites and providing professional field service
• Confidence dealing with customers, technicians, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage service and warranty issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution
• A practical, reliable and safety‑conscious approach to work
• Gas experience or relevant gas license is highly regarded but not essential
• Forklift experience or license is advantageous
• Current Australian driver’s license or equivalent
