Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Operations Superintendent for the Hunter Region to lead site-based electrical workforce across NSW and Queensland projects. This senior role combines hands-on leadership with accountability for workforce planning, safety compliance and operational standards, spanning multiple sites.

You will work closely with Project Managers and site personnel to allocate resources, mentor teams and improve field performance, while maintaining a regular site

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification or extensive experience managing electrical and trade-based workforces.
• Proven leadership across mining, heavy industrial, power generation or major construction projects.
• Experience coordinating trades personnel and resources across multiple sites or concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of site safety systems, SWMS, permits, compliance and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop people and build a high-performing team.

• Coordinate labour allocation, rosters, leave and workforce availability to meet changing project requirements.

• Oversee Site Management Plans, SWMS, permit systems and HSEQ requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve workforce efficiency and site practices.
• Mentor emerging leaders, support apprentice development and maintain workforce competencies, licences and training requirements.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of skilled trades personnel.
• Provide regular updates on workforce utilisation, operational risks, training requirements and site performance.

With a strong reputation for technical expertise, longstanding client relationships and a healthy pipeline of projects across NSW and Queensland, the business is continuing to strengthen its operational leadership team.

An opportunity is now available for an experienced Field Operations Superintendent to take ownership of its site-based electrical workforce and help drive consistency, performance and capability across multiple projects.
About the Role This is a senior, hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the workforce, solving operational challenges and ensuring projects have the right people and systems in place to succeed.

While Project Managers remain responsible for individual project delivery, you will take ownership of the people, workforce coordination and operational standards across the broader field operations team.
Reporting directly to senior management, you'll work closely with Project Managers, Leading Hands and site personnel to ensure resources are effectively allocated, teams are supported and projects operate safely and efficiently.
You'll have the autonomy to make operational decisions, improve existing processes and play a key role in developing the next generation of electrical supervisors and tradespeople.

The position is based in the Hunter Region, with regular travel to project sites across NSW and Queensland.
Key Responsibilities

• Workforce Leadership: Lead and manage a team of electricians, Leading Hands, apprentices and trade assistants across multiple project locations.

• Management Reporting: Provide regular updates on workforce utilisation, operational risks, training requirements and site performance.

About You

We're looking for an experienced electrical or industrial operations leader who combines strong people management skills with a practical understanding of site-based project delivery.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience coordinating trades personnel and resources across multiple sites or concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of site safety systems, SWMS, permits, compliance and operational risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workforce performance, develop people and build a positive team culture.
• Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with both tradespeople and senior management.
• A practical, solutions-focused leadership style and willingness to maintain a regular presence on site.
• A current driver's licence and flexibility to travel between project locations.
