Job summary

BHP Group in Hay Point, Australia, is seeking a full-time electrical engineer to support asset integrity, drawings, and engineering standards at the Hay Point Coal Terminal. The role covers change control, design lifecycle oversight, and specialist electrical engineering support.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in reviews, and drive safety leadership while delivering improvement initiatives and budget considerations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering qualifications; CPEng or RPEQ advantageous.
• Solid understanding of Electrical Engineering principles; coal/mining/heavy industry experience preferred.
• Exposure to HV/LV drives & distribution, PLC hardware & configuration, instrumentation, hazardous areas.
• Experience with brownfield equipment installations and in-service repair scope development.
• Proven ability to provide technical input to design and project execution with safety leadership.
• Strong communication and engagement skills; capable of technical leadership and guidance.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Govern asset integrity and implement improvement initiatives.
• Participate in reviews, audits, and collaborate with engineers across BMA.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems.
• Develop and contribute to improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
• Generate and review designs, technical assessments, and reports.
