Job summary

AVE Technologies, a Newcastle-based engineering company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and commissioning across industrial projects. The role involves design development, drafting, installation, testing and on-site commissioning with travel to Muswellbrook and other sites.

You will collaborate with electrical, automation and project teams and contribute to creating accurate as‑built documentation while ensuring design quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong electrical drafting and ability to modify drawings.
• Experience with CAD and electrical design software.
• Knowledge of circuit design, control systems and PLCs.
• Willingness to work on site and travel.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and produce electrical drawings including SLDs, schematics, cable schedules and control layouts.
• Develop and review electrical designs for industrial and heavy industry applications.
• Identify gaps, errors, risks and opportunities within designs and take ownership of the solution.
• Manage engineering components of projects from scope and design through to delivery and commissioning.
• Attend project sites to undertake inspections, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Support risk assessments, technical investigations and project planning.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, electricians, engineers and internal project teams.
• Review existing installations and documentation and develop accurate as‑built information.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings and project records.
• Provide technical support to the wider AVE team throughout project delivery.
• Travel to Muswellbrook and other project sites as required by your client group.
